Taxation Without Representation
Time for DC to get the same rights we're "spreading" throughout the Middle East.
/snip/
BACKERS OF D.C. voting rights say they are ready to bring their bill to the Senate floor. That the District's long-disenfranchised citizens are ready is an understatement. Before Congress heads out of town for its August recess, it should -- without further delay -- take up the issue of justice for the people who live in the nation's capital but are denied a basic American right.

If DC voters get a senator will not it burden the district with higher costs associated with hiring people to read the longer ballots to the illiterate population of the city?
Only time will tell.
haha FINALLY! Now we can get a taste of democracy we never had before really! Check out my blog too!
Interesting blog. Check out my blog about the Seperation of Church and State and let me know what you think. Maybe you would want to blog on that subject as well.
I do not see the reason why DC voter should get a senator. They are not a state and either should they be considered one.
"right" to vote... can anyone show this "right" to me in the Constitution? There is no protection in the Constitution of the United States giving persons the "right" to vote. Now I dont argue that we should be allowed to vote, but that is a states rights issue and outside of the Federal Government. For those of you who will point out the so called "voters rights acts" the three that exist, simply protect against state discrimination bases on sex, race, age (over 18).
Great post...Thanks
